For your consideration is this Rare Dugan Purple Carnival Glass Nautilus Whimsey Vase.
The story of where this piece of Carnival Glass came from is very interesting. A farmhouse full of Carnival Glass, over 1200 pieces was brought to market by one of the premier Carnival Glass auctioneers. When he went to pick up the glass collection, he was astounded by how many pieces were in the house and that most were covered in so much dust and dirt he could not tell what patterns they were. He cleaned and cataloged 1100 pieces and brought them to market. Most may have been in the collection for over 50 years. It is my pleasure to bring you a piece from this collection. I acquired over 135 pieces of the collection and will be listing them. Many are whimseys and some have outstanding color.
Rare, rare, rare, this vase was pulled from a tumbler and has great color, most are not this nice, and it is not signed. It is in good condition with no cracks, it does have a sliver of the top edge of the rim, see photos. It measures 2 9/16 inches at the base, 2 1/4 inches wide at the top, and 8 inches tall.
