Description
Play-time BeautyMeet our,
1954 vintage
, "Harriet Hubbard Ayer" Ideal,
"Doll of Beauty"
as she was
promoted in her debut in 1953
. Complete in original outfit, she stands, 14" tall, with the
jointed, hard plastic body
and resin-type vinyl, swivel head that was designed to withstand the application and removal of makeup! She is marked in
raised letters
across her shoulders:
Ideal Doll/P 90
and on her neck:
MK 14/Ideal
and is difficult to find in such wonderful condition as they were produced for only a short time. Her head is stuffed vinyl with luscious, long thick honey blond, curly hair in original set with thick bangs and original metal barrette, big blue sleep eyes with perfect brush eyelashes as well as those
distinctive, painted side eyelashes
and matching eyebrows and pretty closed mouth. Her vinyl arms have pretty hand details with long painted fingernails and her hard plastic legs have beautiful pink blush to the knees. She wears her original crisp, pink striped cotton pinafore with square neckline over her original, grey cotton pique dress with puff sleeves and attached panties with white rick-rack trim, original white nylon socks and original Ideal white vinyl shoes with side buttons. Her clothing is bright and clean with no stains or fading and no dust (clothing has not been laundered). She has not had any hair trimmed and is free of any defects, has no damages or marks although there is a very tiny split over one eye, (touch of paint would conceal) no finger chews or nips and no odors she is from a smoke free home. Shown in detail on pages 113-114,
"Ideal Dolls", 3rd edition-Izen
. Her family sisters, (also shown) are not included and
listed separately
. (loc 21)
