Dugan-Diamond Wreathed Cherry Carnival 5-Piece Berry Set, Purple/Amethyst Base
Five-piece berry set, with a large oblong master berry bowl and four matching small oval bowls, all with slightly ruffled fluted rims. The pretty pattern consists of bunches of cherries encircled in wreaths of leaves on the outside of the bowls. More cherries decorate the inside of the bowls. Dark purple base glass with satin multicolor iridescence. The color and evenness of the finish varies from piece to piece. Introduced about 1911.
Condition:  The large bowl has no chips or cracks, and only one very minor rub to the iridescence on the inside. All four small bowls have one small chip on the base edge (one is tiny), and one bowl has a factory flaw/rough spot on a tooth. There are also a couple of other tiny sharp/rough spots that are factory flaws. The iridescence is in overall good condition with just a few small spots of wear to a cherry here and there.
Marks:  Unmarked.
Dimensions:  Large bowl: 12" long, 9" wide, 4 1/4" high. Small bowls: 5 3/4 - 6" long, 4 - 4 1/4" wide, about 2 1/4" high.
Color Note: Some pictures are taken with a black background to highlight how the color of the iridescence of carnival glass can change in appearance depending on background color. Both the white and black background photos were taken under the same lighting, only the background color was changed. How the iridescence will look in your home will depend on your unique background colors and lighting conditions.
