    Description

Antique Japanese Lacquerware Family Valuables Storage box.
    13 3/8 long by 7 3/4 deep by 6 7/8 tall
Offering a Meiji period lacquered wooden humidor with lacquered surface. Very finely crafted with machined nickeled steel hinges. Box contains two smaller lacquered boxes with bronze pulls and metal lined boxes. Large box has black and brown lacquer. Interior boxes have honey colored bronze fleck lacquer and black tops. Gilded fan motif in top with snail crawling on leaf inset. Measures 10 1/8” deep by 13 1/8” wide by 7” tall. Good condition with some scuffing, staining and scratching to the lacquer as depicted. Ordinary wear. An exquisite object. Currently filled with Japanese pressed maple Leaves. They are poetic and I have left them in the boxes. Selling as found from an estate.
